Once hailed the “Iron City” and capital of the steel industry in the U.S., Pittsburgh is now a city of culture and beauty, technology and marvels, champions and progress. As the second largest city in Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh has much to offer. Fellows will not only work in the city, but will also have time to explore the city together. Station Square, the Strip District, the Cultural District, and other attractions all offer opportunities for entertainment and memories.
Home of the Steelers (2009 Super Bowl Champions) and the Penguins (2009 Stanley Cup Champions), the city offers something for all sports enthusiasts. Forbes Magazine has named Pittsburgh one of the Top Ten Cleanest Cities in 2007 and one of the Top Fifteen Cities for Young Professionals in 2008. In 2009, it was voted by The Economist as the most livable city in the United States.
